Bucks County Sheriff's Office News
Submitted by Chief Deputy Dennis J. Shook
The Bucks County Sheriff's Office has 2 new interns.
What's the big deal? The difference is that these interns are not college students, they are veterans of the US Marine Corps. The Bucks County Sheriff's Office has joined with the Travis Manion Foundation in assisting veterans who have returned from Active Duty and are seeking work in the civilian world. These 2 new interns, Michael Vasconez, of Ottsville, Pa and Jon Marc W. Thomas, of Philadelphia, both think they would like a future in law enforcement. The Travis Manion Foundation, teaming with the Bucks County Sheriff's Office, will provide these 2 veterans with a preview of law enforcement to see if that is what they really want for their future. " It's great to support our veterans who have given so much for our country" , says Bucks County Sheriff Edward "Duke" Donnelly " To give them an opportunity to help plan their future in law enforcement, I couldn't be happier with this program and feel honored to be working with the Travis Manion Foundation" They will be with the Sheriff's Office through the summer.
