
Montco Sheriff’s Office raises over $2,300 for K9 safety equipment at memorial bocce tournament
Norristown, Pa., (September 15, 2015) – The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received over $2,300 in donations for its K9 Unit over the weekend at the 2nd Annual “Bocce for Baldo” memorial bocce tournament, which was held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Holy Saviour Club. The tournament was named after MCSO Cpl. James Baldovsky, who previously worked as a Towamencin Township Police Department K9 officer, and passed away from cancer on March 9, 2014. His widow, Marie Baldovsky, joined Sheriff Russell J. Bono, Dep. Michael Petriga and members of the K9 Unit Cpl. Rick Miles, Dep. Thomas Franklin, Dep. Trevor Keller and Dep. Sean Forsyth to dedicate a safety vest for K9 Behr, and to lay an inscribed bocce court brick near center court. All of the funds raised will be used to buy safety equipment for the K9s.
