Philadelphia County Deputy Sheriff Anthony Tabita received FOP Award

On August 17th., Deputy Sheriff Tabita was on the southbound subway, in full uniform, when a male approached him stating that there was a male in the back of the train with a gun. As Deputy Sheriff Tabita approached he observed a male with a white T-shirt that had a silver handgun sticking from his front pocket. the doors to the subway opened and the male seeing Deputy sheriff Tabita exited the train. He ordered the male to stop. The male attempted to pull the gun from his pocket but Deputy Sheriff Tabita thwarted his attempt and was able to place the male into custody and recovered the gun. When backup officers arrived, numerous narcotics were also found.
